Allow me to start by wishing all IACS members a belated “Happy Thaipusam”, “Happy Chinese New Year”, and “Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri”. I hope these celebrations brought joy to you and your loved ones. 

We are pleased to inform that the IACS newsletter “The Approved Company Secretaries” is now open for advertising. Interested members may contact the Secretariat at 03-40513787 to obtain the Advertisement Booking Form.

To date, IACS has successfully conducted a total of seven (7) seminars and webinars. Following previous success, we will be conducting the ‘MBRS 2.0 for Preparers’ seminar again this year. This 2-day course is specially designed to provide preparers with an in-depth understanding and knowledge in using the latest MBRS Preparation Tool (mTool) for filing of Financial Statements (FS) and Key Financial Indicators (KFI) to SSM. We wish to inform our members that we will be adjusting our webinar and seminar fees effective 1st April 2026. This revision is necessitated by rising operational costs, including venue expenses, digital platform maintenance, and speaker engagements. To maintain the high standard of our training, webinar fees will increase slightly by RM10.00 and seminar fees by RM20.00. We have kept this adjustment to an absolute minimum and appreciate your continued support and understanding. In addition, the newly introduced Retired members and Student members will enjoy discounted rates on the webinar/seminar fees.

We also invite eligible Ordinary Members to upgrade to Fellow membership. If you have been a member for at least five (5) years and possess ten or more years of relevant company secretarial experience, the Council invites you to apply for the upgrading. This prestigious designation recognizes your senior and well-earned expertise and commitment to the profession. Please contact the Secretariat to obtain the Fellow Upgrading Form.

In order to mitigate your professional risks, we strongly encourage members to take up the MSIG Group Professional Indemnity Insurance. It is specifically designed and also as an added benefit for IACS members, this insurance safeguards your exposure against claims arising from your professional duties as a practicing company secretary.

Lastly, we continue to encourage members to write to us on any technical or operational issues, as well as enquiries involving SSM or other government enforcement agencies regarding the company law and other corporate secretarial matters. Your input is vital, as it allows us to provide you a reply and represent your interests and address these matters effectively in the appropriate forums and meetings. It will also provide other members an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in their practice.
